 Distributes Cow Meat, Food Items, and Cash to 6,000 Vulnerable People


Reaches Orphanages, Hospitals, and Correctional Facilities with Compassion and Care


KATSINA — In a season defined by sacrifice and compassion, Katsina State First Lady, Hajiya Zulaihat Dikko Umaru Radda, has once again touched lives with sincerity, warmth, and deep humanitarian spirit.


As part of her 2025 Eid al-Adha outreach, Her Excellency partnered with Hasene International Organization and Baris Charity Foundation Nigeria to distribute fresh cow meat to over 6,000 vulnerable individuals across all 361 political wards in Katsina State.


Each Local Government Area (LGA) received between 10 and 12 cows, while Katsina LGA alone received 90 cows, from which 1,000 meat packages were shared. Importantly, half of these packages were specially reserved for people with special needs — a clear reflection of the First Lady’s unwavering commitment to inclusion. The remaining portions were distributed to orphans, internally displaced persons (IDPs), the less privileged, and other vulnerable community members.


To ensure fairness, transparency, and efficient delivery, Her Excellency constituted a dedicated oversight committee comprising representatives from:


Ministry of Religious Affairs, Commissioners for Special Duties, Internal Security, and Sports, Senior Special Assistants on Livestock and Disability Affairs


But her impact didn’t stop there. Through her dedicated team, led by the Senior Special Assistant on Religious Affairs, Mallam Ismail Abdullahi Ibrahim Matazu, the First Lady extended her reach even further — conducting a Sallah goodwill tour to various key institutions across the state. The team brought not just food, but messages of hope and love, offering heartfelt support where it was most needed.


Joining the delegation were Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Muhammad Abdullahi Matazu, and other close associates. Together, they visited:


The juvenile correctional facility, Katsina old and new prisons, Katsina State Orphanage, General Hospital Katsina, The Narcotics Rehabilitation Centre (NRC)


At every stop, the team delivered: 1 cow, 2 bags of rice, 1 jar of cooking oil, and ₦100,000 in cash — small acts of kindness that brought immense joy and relief to those in challenging conditions.


Speaking on behalf of the First Lady, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir conveyed her warm Sallah message:


“Her Excellency wants you to know that you are not forgotten. She sends her love and prayers, hoping everyone can celebrate Eid with dignity, joy, and a sense of belonging.”


The reactions were moving. Orphans, inmates, hospital patients, and other vulnerable individuals welcomed the gesture with tears, prayers, and gratitude. One elderly beneficiary at the orphanage described it as “a gift that feeds the body — and lifts the spirit.”


More than charity, this initiative reflects Hajiya Zulaihat Radda enduring philosophy of service, compassion, and inclusive leadership. It’s about being present — not only in times of celebration, but also in moments of silence where kindness speaks the loudest.


As the people of Katsina mark this sacred season, they do so with renewed strength and faith — thanks to a First Lady whose actions continue to echo deeply in the hearts of the people she serves.
