Bandit Kingpin Ado Allero Slaughters Zamfara Monarch Amid Ongoing Peace Talks

In a shocking twist to the much-publicized North West peace dialogue, notorious bandit kingpin Ado Allero, who has been leading negotiations, has been linked to the slaughter of a traditional ruler in Zamfara State.
According to security intel, at about 4:09 p.m. on September 15, Allero and his gang stormed Keta village in Tsafe LGA, where they brutally killed the Hakimi of Dogon Dawa and abducted 40 worshippers from a local mosque.
The wave of terror did not stop there. The same day, the bandits killed four farmers in Barikin Daji, Ruwan Gizo (Zamfara State) and two Customs officers in Fingilla village, Dandi LGA of Kebbi State.
While peace dialogue sessions were ongoing in Faskari, Katsina State, the criminals ambushed the Commanding Officer of the 382 Army Regiment along Sheme–Kankara Road. Troops repelled the attack, later launching ambushes that led to the recovery of motorcycles and mobile phones from fleeing insurgents.
Further violence unfolded across the region:
NSCDC convoy ambushed in Dafa village, Katsina — one officer killed, four injured.
12 people abducted in Godai village, Bukuyum LGA, Zamfara.
Four abducted in Tudun Moriki, Zamfara.
One woman killed, several injured, and livestock rustled in Kankara LGA, Katsina.
Allero, who just days earlier declared optimism about restoring peace in the region, blamed previous failures on government actions, including the arrest of his son. But the fresh bloodshed underscores what critics describe as the hollow nature of the so-called peace deal.
The continued attacks highlight the fragile security situation in the North West, where communities remain under siege despite government-backed negotiations with insurgent leaders.
