Police Raid Criminal Hideout in Uyo, Nab Suspect with Drugs

 

Operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command stormed a criminal hideout in Ikot Oku Ikono, Uyo, in the early hours of Sunday, September 21, 2025, arresting one suspect and seizing illicit substances.

The raid, carried out around 1:00 a.m. following actionable intelligence, led to the arrest of Kabiru Isa, a resident of Udi Street, Uyo. Other suspects reportedly fled the scene.

A search of the hideout uncovered five bundles of suspected cannabis and capsules suspected to be Tramadol, which have since been handed over to relevant authorities.

Police spokesperson, DSP Timfon John, confirmed the arrest, noting that Isa remains in custody while investigations continue.

The Command assured residents of its unwavering commitment to crime fighting and urged the public to provide timely information to support ongoing security efforts.
