In a glowing tribute to dedication, discipline, and service to humanity, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Katsina State Command, under the exceptional leadership of Commandant Aminu Datti Ahmad, fsf, MADM, has been honoured with the Peace Golden Accolades 2025 (Peace Ambassador Award) by the Network for Good Governance and Transparency (NGGT).
The prestigious award was presented at the Peacekeepers Day 2025 celebration held at the Bello Kofar Bai Conference Hall, Katsina State Secretariat, with the resonant theme: “Peace Begins With Me: Let Us Unite and Build a Peaceful Nation.”
Presenting the award, the Grand Khadi of Katsina State, Hon. Muhammad Kabir Abubakar, praised the Command for its unwavering commitment to the safety and security of Katsina’s citizens. He described the Corps as “a stabilizing pillar for peace in our communities.”
Commandant Ahmad, visibly moved by the recognition, thanked NGGT for spotlighting the contributions of peace actors.
“Celebrating Peacekeepers Day is not just symbolic—it’s a call to action. I urge all citizens, especially the youth, to champion peace at every level,” he said.
🤝 Fostering Unity Through Youth Engagement
In a related development, Mallam Abdurrahman Hamza Mai Yanka, Chairman of the Youth Mobilizers for Peace and Progress Forum, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the State Commandant. The meeting focused on strengthening partnerships between the Corps and youth-led groups in advancing community peace and security initiatives.
Commandant Ahmad assured the forum of NSCDC’s full cooperation and reiterated the Corps’ openness to grassroots collaboration.
“Peacebuilding is everyone’s responsibility. Together, we will secure Katsina,” he added.
