Suspension of Fubara, Others: This Illegality Cannot Stand, Amaechi Tells Tinubu

Former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has fiercely condemned the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara and other officials, calling it an outright "illegality that must not stand."

Amaechi, in a direct message to President Tinubu, urged the federal government to intervene, warning that the move could plunge Rivers into political chaos. He described the action as a dangerous precedent, accusing certain forces of attempting to undermine democracy in the state.

“The rule of law must prevail. Suspending a sitting governor is a direct assault on democracy,” Amaechi declared, vowing to resist any unconstitutional action against the state’s leadership.

With tensions escalating, all eyes are now on the Presidency—will Tinubu step in, or will Rivers politics take a turbulent turn?
