Troops Nab Two Kidnap Suspects as Operation Lafiya Nakowa Records Major Success in

The clampdown on criminal gangs in Taraba State has intensified, with troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke arresting two suspected kidnappers during a daring raid in Karim Lamido Local Government Area.


Acting on credible intelligence, soldiers stormed a hideout in the Garau axis of Rafin Taba community on September 19, leading to the arrest of Ibrahim Umaru and Adamu Malam Musa, both accused of orchestrating multiple kidnappings within Taraba and across state boundaries.

Preliminary interrogation revealed their involvement in high-profile abductions, with victims often moved to Plateau State’s infamous Madam Forest to avoid security patrols. 

The suspects also confessed to collecting huge ransoms from families of abductees.

Commending the troops, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander 6 Brigade/Sector 3 OPWS, said the breakthrough reflects the Army’s resolve to dismantle criminal networks threatening peace and stability in Taraba. 

He assured residents of intensified operations in synergy with other security agencies.

The Army urged citizens to support the offensive by sharing credible intelligence, while warning kidnappers and their collaborators to abandon crime or face decisive consequences.
