Troops Crush ISWAP Fighters in Borno, Adamawa — 11 Terrorists Killed, Weapons Seized

Nigerian troops under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have dealt a heavy blow to insurgents, neutralising 11 ISWAP terrorists and seizing weapons and motorcycles in fierce clashes across Borno and Adamawa States.

The Nigerian Army, in a statement on Tuesday, said troops of Sector 3 foiled an ambush along the Baga–Cross Kauwa route in Kukawa, Borno, on September 15. Despite an IED blast and heavy gunfire, soldiers stood firm, overpowering the terrorists with superior firepower.

At least eight insurgents were confirmed killed, including notorious commanders Modu Dogo Munzir, an unidentified Munzir, and Abu Aisha Qaid of Tumbun Mota, while several others fled with gunshot wounds.

In a separate operation at Umbo in Madagali LGA, Adamawa, troops neutralised three more terrorists, bringing the total to 11 eliminated.

Recovered items include 14 motorcycles, AK-47 rifles, magazines, rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, anti-aircraft links, blankets, and assorted drugs.

Military authorities hailed the operation as another step forward in dismantling ISWAP’s network in the North East.
