Troops Eliminate Notorious Bandit Guddel, Brother in Kaduna — Danmusa Infighting Frees Kankara Hostages

In a major security breakthrough, Nigerian troops have eliminated a notorious bandit kingpin, Guddel, and his brother in a fierce operation in Kaduna State, tightening the noose around terror cells in the region.

The late Guddel was a feared terror leader linked to countless attacks, kidnappings, and killings across the Northwest. Military sources confirmed that he was neutralized alongside his sibling during a precision strike backed by actionable intelligence.

Meanwhile, in neighboring Katsina State, deadly infighting erupted among rival factions of the Danmusa-based bandit syndicate — leading to the unexpected escape of several hostages, including victims kidnapped from Kankara.

Security officials revealed that the clash claimed the lives of multiple bandits, including a top-ranking commander who had long been on the radar of intelligence agencies.

“This is a significant blow to the criminal network,” a senior security officer told reporters. “Internal rivalries and our relentless operations are exposing their vulnerabilities.”

The development marks a double victory for security forces and affected communities, as both tactical military pressure and internal conflict among bandits appear to be breaking their grip on the region.

Residents in the affected areas have begun expressing cautious relief, hoping this momentum will be sustained.

As the military intensifies clearance operations, more breakthroughs are expected in the days ahead.
