Tinubu’s Aide Drops Bombshell: Aliyu Audu Resigns Over 'Unholy Alliance' with Wike

In a dramatic turn of events that has sent shockwaves through the corridors of power, Aliyu Audu, a key aide to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has tendered his resignation, citing the erosion of democratic ideals under the President’s controversial alliance with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

In a strongly worded statement, Audu described the Tinubu-Wike partnership as an “unholy alliance” that has derailed the hopes of millions who trusted in the Renewed Hope agenda. “This government has veered off course,” he declared. “Democratic values are being sacrificed on the altar of political expediency.”

Audu, who served as the National Coordinator of the APC Rebirth Group before his appointment, accused the administration of sidelining loyal party members while empowering political opportunists. “Those who labored for the APC are now spectators, while those who once vowed to destroy the house are now laying its bricks,” he said in a veiled swipe at Wike, a former PDP strongman.

His resignation comes amid growing tension within the All Progressives Congress, as party loyalists increasingly question Wike’s rising influence in Abuja politics and the perceived marginalization of APC stakeholders in key decisions.

Political analysts warn that Audu’s exit could signal deeper unrest within the Tinubu camp, especially among core APC loyalists who feel betrayed by recent political realignments.

As the political storm brews, the Presidency has yet to issue an official response. However, insiders say Audu’s departure may be just the first in a series of high-profile fallout from what critics call a power-sharing deal that is “antithetical to true progressive politics.”
