Culture Meets Cabinet: Nigeria’s Arts Minister Graces 2025 Ojude Oba Festival in Grand Style

In a dazzling show of heritage, color, and unity, Nigeria’s Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, stole the spotlight at this year’s Ojude Oba Festival in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

The Minister arrived in regal attire befitting the cultural extravaganza, drawing cheers from the crowd as she joined traditional leaders, dignitaries, and cultural troupes in celebrating the rich Yoruba legacy. Her presence underscored the Federal Government’s renewed commitment to promoting Nigeria’s cultural identity as a cornerstone of economic growth.

Speaking at the event, Musawa described Ojude Oba as “a national treasure that exemplifies the power of culture to unite, empower, and inspire.” She commended the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, for preserving the festival’s essence and transforming it into a world-class cultural tourism attraction.

With vibrant horse parades, age-grade processions, and pulsating drumbeats echoing through the town, this year’s Ojude Oba was nothing short of spectacular. The Minister also hinted at plans to list the festival on Nigeria’s official cultural tourism calendar and attract international partnerships for future editions.

As thousands thronged Ijebu-Ode in colorful aso-ebi, the message was clear: Nigeria’s culture is not just history—it’s the future.
