Army Troops Eliminate ISWAP Ameer Malam Jidda in Fierce Borno Operation, Recover Arms Cache

In a major breakthrough in the war against terror, gallant troops of the Nigerian Armed Forces have neutralised a high-ranking Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) commander, Malam Jidda, during a special operation in the North East.

Reliable sources informed counterinsurgency expert Zagazola Makama that the operation, carried out in Ngazalgana village, Gujba LGA of Yobe State, led to the death of Malam Jidda—feared Ameer of Ngorgore and Malumti villages. Troops also recovered several AK-47 rifles, loaded magazines, and a motorcycle used by the terrorists.

In a separate encounter within the notorious Timbuktu Triangle axis, a swift ambush team of Nigerian troops engaged ISWAP fighters in a deadly clash, neutralising several terrorists and seizing additional assault rifles and battlefield ordnance.

The momentum continued in the Abadam axis of northern Borno, where troops conducting mop-up operations in Mallamfatori discovered more terrorist corpses and a fresh cache of abandoned weapons. The fleeing insurgents, overwhelmed by the intensity of the military counterattack, reportedly left behind arms of various calibres.

Military sources say the operations form part of a larger strategy to dismantle ISWAP strongholds, disrupt terrorist logistics, and restore lasting peace to the conflict-ridden region.

“These relentless offensives are yielding results, and the Nigerian military remains committed to ending terrorism across the North East,” one senior source confirmed.
