Nigeria First Lady launches every home a garden program, empower 60 women in Zamfara

The wife of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Senator Oluremi Tinubu has launched every home a garden program which is an agribusiness scheme for women, were sixty women empowered under the scheme in Zamfara state.


Speaking on behalf of the wife of the president at the event, the wife of Zamfara state governor Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal stated that the program is under the Renewed Hope Initiative by the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.


Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal further stated that Every Home a Garden initiative is designed to  fight against hunger and poverty that can easily be started in our own backyards. 


"By cultivating small gardens at home, we can feed our families, support our communities, and generate income through surplus produce." She said 


" This initiative is not just about planting crops, but about planting hope, building resilience, and ensuring food security for all". She said 


She further maintained that each beneficiaries will receive a comprehensive package comprising a wheelbarrow, watering can, fertilizer, hoe, cutlass, and a two hundred thousand naira cash grant.


Hajiya Huriyya urged women in Zamfara State to take the initiative seriously, learn from it, and pass it on to their daughters and sisters.


"By making farming a part of our everyday life, we can ensure no family goes hungry". She added 

 

"Together, let us grow, nurture, and feed our people,one home, one garden at a time." She further hinted 


The wife of Zamfara state governor then commended the wife of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for launching this visionary program in the state. 


According to her, the program will go along way to ameliorate poverty and create job opportunities among women at their matrimonial homes in the state.
