Atiku Warns Tinubu: Curb Seyi’s Excesses — Presidency Not a Family Inheritance

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has issued a stern warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging him to call his son, Seyi Tinubu, to order amid growing concerns over the young Tinubu's increasing political visibility.

Atiku, in a sharp rebuke, declared that the Nigerian presidency is not a family inheritance, warning that the actions and influence of Seyi Tinubu risk undermining the sanctity of democratic leadership and governance.

“The Presidency is not an inheritance to be passed down like family property,” Atiku stated. “President Tinubu must remember that Nigeria is a democratic republic, not a monarchy.”

The comment comes after Seyi Tinubu was seen participating in high-level government activities, triggering criticism from opposition figures and civil society groups who view it as an attempt to blur the line between public office and private influence.

Atiku’s remarks have further heated the political climate, sparking debates on nepotism and power centralization in the current administration.

Political analysts say this may mark the beginning of a fierce war of words as Nigeria heads toward another critical election cycle.
