APC Stakeholders in Borno Reaffirm Loyalty to Tinubu, Shettima, Zulum, Declare No Plan to Leave Party

..Urge unity, warn against internal sabotage

 The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Borno State has reaffirmed its unwavering loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, declaring that the state remains firmly rooted in the APC with no plans for any political merger or realignment.

 

This position was contained in a communique issued at the end of a critical stakeholders' meeting held on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Government House, Maiduguri.

 

The meeting, chaired by APC State Chairman, Honourable Bello Ayuba, and State Secretary, Barrister Mustapha Loskuri, brought together key party leaders including APC Deputy National Chairman (North) Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori; Senate Chief Whip, Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno; Senators Mohammed Ali Ndume and Kaka Shehu Lawan; former Governor, Senator Maina Ma'aji Lawan; and former ambassadors Baba Ahmed Jidda and Dauda Danladi.

 

Also in attendance were members of the National and State Assemblies, the Secretary to the State Government, commissioners, special advisers, local government chairmen, and other party stakeholders.

 

In its resolutions, the stakeholders pledged total loyalty to President Tinubu and endorsed his *Renewed Hope Agenda*, encouraging Vice President Shettima to remain steadfast in his role and urging the President to retain Shettima as his running mate for a second term.

 

The meeting also expressed full confidence in Governor Zulum’s leadership, particularly his efforts to rebuild Borno in the face of insurgency, and encouraged him to remain focused.

 

Reaffirming that *Borno remains a progressive state*, the APC leadership dismissed any speculation of a merger, declaring the party as the most viable platform for governance in the state.

 

The communique further warned against internal sabotage and actions capable of tarnishing the APC’s image. It urged party members to uphold unity, discipline, and loyalty to the party’s ideals, while calling on the national leadership to continue strengthening internal democracy and the party’s organizational structure.

 

In addition, the stakeholders appealed to President Tinubu to sustain key development initiatives in the Northeast, including ongoing oil exploration in Kolmani and Lake Chad, and to scale up investments in road infrastructure to improve regional security and prosperity.
