Senator Natasha Suspended for Gross Misconduct, Not Sexual Harassment Allegations – Senate Leader Bamidele Clarifies

Amid widespread speculation, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele has set the record straight on the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, emphasizing that the decision was due to gross misconduct and not sexual harassment allegations.

Bamidele made this clarification on Tuesday, dismissing rumors that linked the suspension to a controversial claim of harassment. According to him, the Senate's action was based strictly on breaches of parliamentary rules, not personal grievances.

"The Senate maintains its integrity and follows due process. Senator Natasha was suspended solely on the grounds of misconduct that violated our rules. Any other narrative is false and misleading," Bamidele stated.

The clarification comes amid heated debates over the circumstances surrounding Natasha’s suspension, with supporters and critics exchanging accusations. However, the Senate leadership insists that its decision was based on internal disciplinary measures, urging Nigerians to focus on facts rather than speculation.
