Katsina Hosts Historic U20 National Football Camp, Pioneers Northern Sports Development

In a landmark move for Northern Nigeria’s sports development, the U20 national male football team has commenced a month-long training camp in Katsina, fully sponsored by the Katsina State Government.

Running from March 9 to April 9, 2025, this groundbreaking initiative aims to strengthen both the technical skills and moral discipline of young players, ensuring they are well-equipped for future international competitions.

Speaking on the program, the Director General of Dikko Sports Movement, Abubakar Sani, revealed an exciting lineup of friendly matches against international and local teams, including Tunisia, Ghana, Niger, Junior Katsina United, Junior Damburam Daura, Katsina Academy, Katsina Selected, and Katsina Home Base. These matches are designed to sharpen the players’ competitive edge and provide them with crucial international exposure.

This initiative marks the first of its kind in Northern Nigeria, positioning Katsina as a hub for youth football development and reaffirming the state’s commitment to nurturing future football stars.
