According to police sources, the incident occurred on March 26 at about 9:00 p.m. when yet-to-be-identified gunmen suspected to be kidnappers broke through the wall of a residence near Igbe Creek, Ijede, and forcibly took away Dare Onipede Orukila, 40.

They also abducted a 25-year-old woman, Rodiat Taiwo, from a nearby house, before escaping with their victims through Igbe Creek.

A combined team of conventional police officers and tactical squads has been deployed to comb the creek.

The police sources have assured the public that no stone will be left unturned in the effort to track down the perpetrators and rescue the victims unhurt.
