Governor Radda Empowers 7,220 Widows, Vulnerable Persons Across Katsina State


Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to empowering widows and vulnerable individuals, describing it as a key social responsibility.

Speaking during the empowerment program held across the 34 Local Government Areas, Governor Radda announced that 7,220 beneficiaries would each receive a 25kg bag of rice and ₦10,000 to support them, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.

In his welcome address, the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Ishaq Shehu Dabai, emphasized that the initiative aims to alleviate hardship and provide relief to struggling families.

Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hadiza Abubakar Yar’adua, and Commissioner for Agriculture and Livestock, Professor Ahmed Muhammad Bakori, commended the state government’s various empowerment efforts, stressing its impact on improving livelihoods.

Dr. Kamaladden Kabir, State Coordinator of the Community Development Agency, expressed gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries, noting that 20 individuals were carefully selected from each of the 361 wards. He urged them to utilize the assistance effectively.

Governor Radda’s administration continues to prioritize social welfare, ensuring that the most vulnerable members of society receive much-needed support.
