Putin Honors Russian Soldiers as Belousov Declares ‘Decisive Moment’ in Clash with West

Russian President Vladimir Putin has awarded the nation’s highest military honor, the Golden Star of the Hero of Russia, to distinguished soldiers and officers in a Kremlin ceremony marking Defender of the Fatherland Day.
Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, presenting personalized pistols to the awardees, declared, “The fate of our great country now depends on the actions of every person, every soldier and officer.” He described the moment as a turning point in Russia’s ongoing confrontation with the collective West.
Putin, addressing the recipients, praised their bravery and sacrifice: “You have shown devotion to the vows of our glorious ancestors. With courage, you protect Russia, fighting for truth, justice, and the future of our people.”
The ceremony comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions, reinforcing the Kremlin’s narrative of resilience and national unity.
