Airline Dares Senator to Show Evidence, Accuses Him of Disrupting Airport Operations

In a fiery rebuttal that has set social media abuzz, Nigeria’s leading carrier, Air Peace, has categorically denied recent accusations of extortion leveled by Senator Adams Oshiomhole, describing his claims as “deliberate falsehood.”

In a statement issued by the airline’s management, Air Peace challenged the former Edo State governor to name one passenger who was allegedly extorted, insisting that no tickets were sold after check-in closed and the flight in question departed with over 30 empty seats.

“If extortion truly occurred, let Senator Oshiomhole name one victim. No passenger was charged extra or extorted—our records are clear,” the airline said.

Air Peace further accused Oshiomhole of arriving late for his flight and then causing a commotion when denied boarding, including jumping onto the baggage conveyor belt and barricading the terminal gate, disrupting the operations of other flights.

“It is absolutely false that he was fighting for others. He was fighting for himself—and violently so,” the airline said.

The carrier is now calling on the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to release CCTV footage of the incident to expose what it described as the senator’s “shameful conduct.”

In a parting shot, the airline condemned the senator’s extortion allegation as defamatory, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining strict on-time performance, even at a financial cost.
