NOA Katsina: Children’s Rights Are Non-Negotiable

KATSINA — As the world marked this year’s Children’s Day, the Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Katsina State, Alhaji Muktar Lawal Tsagem, has called for renewed commitment towards safeguarding the rights and welfare of children, stressing their pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s future.

In a statement commemorating the day, Tsagem described children as the “pillars of tomorrow,” emphasizing that their value lies not only in their innocence but in their potential as future leaders and professionals who will power the nation’s development.

“Children’s Day is not just about celebration—it’s a reminder of our responsibility to protect, nurture, and invest in our children,” Tsagem said. “They are the future scientists, doctors, teachers, and engineers who will produce what the society needs to survive and thrive.”

He highlighted key rights that must be upheld, including the right to life, education, social and medical care, and freedom from violence and discrimination. He urged families, communities, and authorities to stand united in protecting these rights.

“As bonafide members of the society, children deserve to grow in safety, dignity, and hope. Let us give them the tools to build a brighter tomorrow,” Tsagem concluded.

The NOA Katsina Director’s message comes at a time when national conversations around child protection, education, and healthcare remain critical to sustainable development.
